This morning the peace at a sunlit Nest 1A was disturbed by a 3 year old Scottish male.

725 was ringed in 2022 at a nest in the Kelso area of Tweed Valley Osprey Project. 725 made a couple of brief touchdowns. This is the first – on KF13’s head!

KF13 was none the worse for wear.
We’ve also received details about 643’s origin. She hatched on a new nest in the Carron Valley near Strling in 2022. So her arrival here last year was as a 2 year old. She and UV have developed a bond at Nest 5A, sharing fish and both attending to the nest furniture. She’s usually receptive to copulation attempts but there is still no sign of an egg. Despite how this image looks!

There is still time for eggs to be laid, chicks hatch, and offspring fledge and gain exerience before migration. But it would be a wonderful sight to see an egg soon!
For those of you trying to watch Nest 7 on You Tube radio interference has been severe this week, with frequent dropouts of the stream, especially today. It is still viewable at Tower Knowe Visitor Centre.
