Hello Everyone,
We had a lovely ‘goodbye’ from all the birds when we left our digs at Grand Pre. Oh, I did say I would miss the rolling hills with all their beauty, but, by far, it will be stepping outside and seeing Bald Eagles soaring in the skies or sitting on the utility poles or hunting in the fields. The adults were out along with two immature Bald Eagles, a Cormorant sunning itself, and a host of gulls either in the fields or on the shore as the tide was going out.
We had a lovely holiday. I wanted to share these images with you – none of them will win awards, but I hope you like them. I will look forward to being back with you on Wednesday.
Take care!

There are two of them sitting on the poles watching for prey in the fields below.

It is difficult to tell their age, but I would guess between 1.5 and 2 years. They might have hatched in the nest on the Memorial Park in 2023 or they just might be one of thousands returning to Nova Scotia for the winter and all those chickens that will be tossed out of the factory farms for them. Dead, of course.
A Herring Gull.

Great Black-backed Gulls. Notice that deep espresso chocolate bar wing of the Black-backed whereas the Herring Gull is grey with a black tail.

Beautiful pictures Mary Ann! When I’m driving, the hawk on a pole always catches my eye. Can’t take a picture while driving, but it sure is memorable. Safe travels home! 🦅🐈🐈⬛💕
Oh, that happens to me, too. My problem is that I keep looking and finally have to pull over which can be scary!
Thank you Mary Ann for all the pictures! They are great and will make you a great vacation collection indeed! Great memories ! So glad you’ll had a great time and have a safe trip home. See you on here soon!
