E26 fledged…

10 March 2026

Hello Everyone,

We knew it was coming (as it is with many nests) but dear F23 and M15’s baby just fledged at the SW Florida Bald Eagle nest.

M15 will be diligent in bringing in prey and teaching his baby. We have seen his dedication before. Wish them both well!

Beautiful flight. Congratulations and thank you to the Pritchett Family for allowing us to witness the dynamics of this amazing Bald Eagle nest.

Rejoice. It is a great moment.

Sadly, at Sauces, Audacity laid another egg this afternoon. It cracked almost immediately.

So happy for E26! They had posted a picture of Audacity with her egg and she looked amazed as we did! But I didn’t know it had already cracked.
Thanks for these updates Mary Ann!

    1. Oh, it was a beautiful flight! Yes, sadly, Audacity appears to have stepped on the egg.

The bitter mixed with the sweet..I’m still going to pray that at least 1 egg doesn’t break and goes all the way to an eaglet fledge / disperse..
You know that F23 is very proud of her eaglet.. Hope you & your family have an amazing day.

    1. Thank you so much for your best wishes…F23 was an incredible mother. Her life was too short-lived, especially with the sadness of losing both of her eaglets last year. E26 is magnificent – and yes, F23 is proud as is M15.
On the Cornell campus, they slow traffic once the hawlets have fledged (Big Red and Arthur’s) on the road where they consistently fly across. I wish that traffic could be calmed around the SW Florida nest (and all nests in areas with high traffic during the breeding and fledging seasons).
