Miracle at Captiva!

14 June 2024

Hello Everyone,

The miracle that everyone was waiting for – a break in the weather at Captiva – has meant that the family has had a really good feed Friday morning.

I know that you will be overjoyed – in tears – to learn that Darling has eaten after 87 hours with only a few scraps from the nest. Edie brought in 2 fish and Jack brought in 1. Tears.

Thank you to ‘H’ and to Windows to Wildlife for their streaming cam.

    Hello Mary Ann!
Thanks for the update! My sister lives in Naples and says the rain is worse than a hurricane. She lives further inland where hurricanes have not had an huge effect, and even inland, her backyard is flooded. There is more rain expected for Florida tomorrow. Take care, go well. ☺️❤️

    1. Yes, the rain is horrible. The hurricanes move through fairly quickly causing great damage but they do not linger and linger. A week of bad weather can cause no fishing and all nestlings to die. It has been terrible in Florida and we will sadly never know how much wildlife was lost.
