Good Morning,

Just touching base with everyone quickly. I was so overjoyed to see Iris that I forgot to write and tell you that Shadow has been seen and there is no fishing line! So this is wonderful news.

Heidi is monitoring the Brevard Osprey nest. The parents have brought in large fish and the chicks have been unresponsive. One chick has died and the other two appear lethargic and are refusing to eat. It is clear that it is not the parenting of the adults, but something amiss with the osplets. It would be good if a necroscopy were undertaken to discover if this is HPAI or another illness.

It appears that Iris has gone off fishing. We wait for Finnegan!

Big Red and Arthur are fine and doing shift changes as they incubate their three eggs.

Send good wishes to Iris for some great fishing and for Finnegan’s safe arrival. Thank you to Heidi and Brevard County and our condolences to all. It is so sad when we lose even one but a clutch of three potentially passing is difficult. Thank you to Brevard County and Cornell Bird Lab for their streaming cams.
