Good Morning Everyone from a freezing -30 C on the Canadian Prairies,
This is very brief.
The good news is that the wee one NE31 hatched at 0753. I sure hope you can see the images!
As I get ready for the house to be quiet, Akecheta is still clinging to a rock at the top of Tor after an altercation with an intruder. Both of the male eagles showed injuries. The intruder was sitting by Thunder on Tor but has left.
My heart just breaks looking at this image and from the looks of the inbox on FB and my e-mail, all of you are tremendously worried about Cheta. Both look like it was a bitter fight. Oh, please let Cheta be well.

There is no news on Akecheta. The camera is also on highlights.
Gabby and Beau. They had best rest.

The official hatch time set by the AEF was 0753. This is just so wonderful. Gabby has already let Beau incubate. Perhaps she is going to go and find some fish or other prey????

Other nests we are watching:
Jackie and Shadow are bonding. Might this be their year too? https://youtu.be/oDcSg3fA6pI?
Politicans say one thing, get elected, and then do nothing. it does not matter the party!
Richmond will be waiting for Rosie to arrive shortly. She normally comes home around Valentine’s Day! https://youtu.be/AKsz5lr_AM8?
Have you suggested names for C12 and C13 at Captiva?

R7 and R8 are doing alright. A family portrait from above. Look at those cute little wings.

Wet. The Es are getting all of their juvenile feathers. Just look at them!

At Port Lincoln, Kasse and Wilko fight for every fish. Thankfully, each seems to get one fish a day – at least.

The tally so far for Monday:

I had hoped to have news of Akecheta. We will see when the cameras are up and running again. Highlights are on both cameras at the moment. Does this mean someone has gone to check? I wonder.
Thank you for being with me this morning for this brief update.
Thank you to everyone for their notes and to the streaming cams that provided the images above – NEFlorida and the AEF, IWS/Explore.org, Window to Wildlife, SW Florida Eagle Cam, WRDC, Port Lincoln Ospreys, and to Bart M for his excellent observation board at Port Lincoln. The Raptor Persecution UK for Ruth’s vigilance and news.
